基于图像感兴趣区域的图像压缩方法

摘要:
目的 提出一种基于图像感兴趣区域的图像压缩方式, 实现在减少图像存储空间时图像失真少的效果。方法 采用眼动仪提取图像感兴趣区域, 制作压缩掩码对图像进行分区压缩, 非感兴趣区域采用DCT算法进行压缩, 而感兴趣区域不做任何压缩处理直接保留原样。结果 主客观评价实验表明: 压缩后的图像失真较少, 视觉观察效果好, 且压缩后所占存储空间减半, 方法简便, 压缩效率高。结论 结合眼动仪提取感兴趣区域的压缩方法优于基于Itti视觉模型的压缩方法, 适合压缩多种类型的图像, 具有较好的实用性。

Abstract:
We proposed a new image compression method based on region of interest, in order to reduce the storage space of image and lower the distortion of image. The eye tracker was used to extract image regions of interest, and then partition compression of image was conducted by making a compression mask. The background area was compressed using DCT algorithm, while the area of interest was kept as original without any compression. Subjective and objective evaluation results showed that the compressed images had little distortion and good observation effect, and the storage space was reduced by half. The method was simple and the compression efficiency was high. In conclusion, the compression method based on extracting region of interest through eye tracker was superior to the compression method based on Itti visual model. This method has a good practicality and can be used to compress many types of images.
